Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
If you've ever wanted to purchase a robot vacuum, now is the time. CNET's top-rated models will be available during Black Friday and Cyber Monday with discounts of up to 57%..
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that has smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its running time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also self-empties and refills its water tank.
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. Its biggest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often slough through). It's the first robot to send you a picture of an object that it encounters, so you can tell that it is safe to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient mop robot we've ever tested, removing dirt and spills with ease and leaving no trace that it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app, which allows you to schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't clean areas you don't want it to. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off with your voice.
Its design is an improvement over the rest with a sleek top piece that looks more like a toy robot rather than a loud, loud one. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt removal System is also self-emptying which will reduce your cleaning time.
In our tests the j7+ was quick to remove dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place, instead of scattering it on the floor. It was able to capture small gravel, sand and even a bit of grit. Most robots could not achieve this feat. It did this without getting caught in our pet's hair.
The j7+, although not as intelligent as the $1,217 Roomba S9and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and isn't able to clean the stairs, is an excellent choice for those who need both mopping and vacuum. It's not expensive and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly.
Although the iRobot Home app is very easy to use, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that use robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell whether the update actually working until you see it in action.
If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean your floors A hybrid is the ideal choice. These machines are equipped with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. These bots also have various additional features such as smart mapping, small object avoidance, and robotvacuummops the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they can be expensive when purchased at full retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.
Roborock is one of our most loved robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's their cheapest auto-empty model, and while it's not equipped with some of the premium features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great option if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save hundreds of dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeable soft around obstacles like wall legs and table legs which makes it a great option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a area where many cheaper robot vacuums aren't able to meet. The Q5+'s navigation system is also top-quality, with a few misses along walls and in corners.
The Q5+, like other Roborock products can be controlled via a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. Through the app, you can start and stop cleaning or schedules, establish virtual barriers and no-go zones, and alter your home map or change the labeling of rooms.
If you opt for the Q5+, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock designed specifically to make this machine easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once in place, emptying the bin can be done with relative ease. It also comes with an impressive LCD display which is great to have when you're setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't necessary for most people however it can help you to keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design and functionality are among the best on the market however, it's also expensive.
The base station is attractive and hides it when not in use, and the size is quite compact. The station's main selling point is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, chores and functions that other robots have to leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot clean and charged.
Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's the only robot vacuum I've used that has done a good job picking up dirt from floors that aren't. It's also not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, which means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the house. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other models and isn't equipped with a dock that can create a clean zone for plush carpets.
While it doesn't offer as many in terms of cleaning options available in its app, or as many shortcuts within the app like other robovacs the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for an all-around great mop and robot vacuum that's worth the premium price tag.
If you're looking to cut costs or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are other options on the market. Many eufy models cost considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is less expensive however it comes with more features, such as stairs and a fully-function Dock, that provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on bare floors carpets with low pile, and even high-pile ones.
Eufy is an Anker company that has a long history of creating robot vacuums that offer the perfect combination of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning of carpets and hard flooring, and mopping functions at an affordable price. It's easy to set it up, just connect one of the side brush and then turn it on. Then plug in your charging dock. The app takes you through several steps to connect to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to leave the dock close to a power outlet and plenty of room for it to move around, however.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be exact, which means it can be tucked away under couches and other furniture with a low clearance. Its design is a little more modest than other models, and features a sleek black finish and three physical buttons: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Clean (which cleans the area in a spiral pattern for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.
The primary feature that distinguishes the G30 apart from most competitors is the way it cleans. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of immovable objects in its path and then keeps track of what it has already cleaned and what it isn't able to access. When it's time to recharge, it automatically returns to its base, and then resumes cleaning where it began.
The eufy G30 has a few flaws. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, offers a similar battery life, and performs better on unfinished floors or low-pile carpet. It also comes with a larger dust bin that doesn't require to be emptied as often and comes with the boundary strips to restrict it from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't have to be emptied as often and it's less difficulty handling bulky products such as cereal.
